Happy First Day of Summer!

So today is the first "real" day of summer. The sun is shinning, the birds are....wait....the sun isn't shinning...what's up with that?

Well here's some things that tell me it's summer anyways and that Summer has been here for a while...sun or no sun!

My brother in law found the sweetest little baby raccoons (there were 4) that had obviously lost their moma but they seem to have thought Nick could be their new one.

I found this sweet little old lantern for just a quarter!

And the vase I found for 1.00 that I filled with Lupins (for free)

I also got a mini iron board and a pattern for just 1.75.

And this (not yet) wonderful ottoman. I'm going to reupholster for my daughter and son's room to go with their little rocker. This was a steal at 2.00. Can't wait to start & finish it!

On the Road again...

So we travelled down home for a wedding. On the way there we came across THIS on the side of the road...I know right...who would through this away...it's got soooo much potential.



Can not wait to get home and get this up and running...have to wait until I get a head start on my dining room first though. :(







My husband and Father went to an auction and found these - the perfect gift for a photographer...antique cameras! eeeeeeee.....how excited was I ! LOVE LOVE LOVE my family!

May Is MADNESS!

So it's almost the end of May and the answer to the question "is my dining room almost done" is NO and big fat NO. It's been crazy in this house and everything that could have happened as a distraction has happened. Never the less I'm trudging along in hopes that June will bring a little more time and we'll get both the dining room and entrance finished....it's a dream but who knows maybe if I try hard enough a reality.

Here's some things I've been doing while everything else is falling apart...

...and here's a cute little picture frame I found at a yard sale for 3.00 they sell the exact same ones at Walmart for 16.99!
The close up shows you some heavy dirt or mould not sure which one yet...I wanna find at least one if not two more without having to buy full price..I'm changing the photos in it of course to my beautiful babies.

Mom's Little Girl ALL GROWN UP!

My little girl just finished up her very first dance recital...and what an amazing job she did. Mommy and Daddy were so proud she got a beautiful bouquet of pink roses...(and for only 10.00 hehe) Non the less if they were 50.00 she would be worth it! She worked hard to play her part. She's soo grown up :( Here's some pics I'd like to share!

A New Month...you know what that means...DINNING ROOM..aghhh

Well, it's the beginning of a new month...So far it's been a rough one because I've had to say my goodbye to a dear friend of both mine and my husbands. He has gone on tour to Afghanistan. It will be 4 months before I see him again and it will be two weeks before he returns for yet another two months. This has motivated me even more to keep my mind busy and focused on other things...I'm starting with something different this time. I've entered a swap at The Shabby Chic Cottage to swap inspirational pieces with one another. Since this person is now watching my blog I can only take a photo of the box itself...the rest will have to wait to be posted until she has seen the parcel...so not to ruin the surprise of course...I'll also be posting mine once I get it...so keep updated on this post... :) HAPPY THRIFTING!



SOOOO I GOT MY PACKAGE!!! May 12th and Here's the inside of my package from my Swap Mate I was soo excited...so many wonderful things...my mind is all over the place...a few things got damaged but nothing a little love can't fix...though I'm happy I didn't send breakables in my package!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

It's Earth Day and even though this is not a DIY, a Reno Project, or even a fab find...I thought it was cute to share with you some things we did on this wonderful day....first...we picked up ALL the garbage around the yard...what a task...two bags full. Embarrassing and heart breaking. Then to reward ourselves we had some YUMMY worms in dirt...Check them out..these were made with Vanilla Ice Cream, Oreo Crumbs, Chocolate Syrup and Gummy Worms. BUT for mom the low fat version was Vanilla Yogurt, Oreo Crumbs and Gummy Worms...still yummy but saves my tummy.
